Innovative training in methods for future data

Tamás Pongrácz

Tamás Pongrácz is a PhD candidate in Leiden University Medical Center at the Center for Proteomics and Metabolomics under the supervision of Manfred Wuhrer and Noortje de Haan. He has received both his Bachelor (Medical Analytics) and Master degree (Medical Biotechnology) at the Univeristy of Pécs, Hungary. From the very beginning of his career, he maintained a strong interest towards biology and chemistry.
Tamás pursues research in the field of glycomics and glycoproteomics by applying cutting-edge analytical separation and detection methods. The main challenge of glyco(proteomics) is to understand how protein glycosylation – an abundant post translational modification playing a key role in major physiological processes – changes in health, and altered physiological conditions, such as cancer or aging.
